  • What is the difference between New Tasking vs. Archive Order?

Images of New Tasking orders are captured in near real-time by KOMPSAT, tasked with your desired time frame, location, resolution, and sensor selection. Archive Order images are previously captured and available in our extensive SpaceEye archive.

  • How do I order a New Tasking?

    1. Browse the map or search for your area of interest.

    2. Use the Area of Interest (AOI) tool to define the specific region you want to capture

    3. After selecting your desired settings, add the order to your cart and proceed with payment.

  • How can I filter archive images to find the best one for me?

SpaceEye provides a variety of filter options to help you find the most suitable imagery for your needs. Here’s how you can use them.

    - Date Range / Seasonal Range

Set a specific date or seasonal period for when the image was captured. You can add multiple date ranges.

    - Sensor Type: Optical / SAR (Radar, useful for all-weather and night imaging)

    - Optical Satellites

Select specific satellites among KOMPSAT-2, KOMPSAT-3, KOMPSAT-3A. Or leave it as All to view data from any satellite.

    - SAR Satellites

Select specific satellite, KOMPSAT-5. Or leave it as All to view data from any satellite.

    - Cloud Cover

Set a cloud cover range (e.g., 0–20%) to avoid cloudy images.

    - Off-Nadir Angle

Set the angle between the satellite and the center of the image. Lower angles usually mean better quality.

    - Roll Angle

Control the side-to-side tilt of the satellite when capturing an image.

    - Imaging Mode

Choose how the image was captured: Strip, Stereo, or Arbitrary.

  • How can I adjust the number of archive images shown?

You can control the number of displayed archive images as follows:

    1. Go to the tab ‘Archive Order’

    2. Click the Filter button on the top-right corner.

    3. Increase or decrease the maximum cloud cover setting.

※ A higher cloud cover setting will show you more image options, but be sure to check the preview to make sure clouds aren’t blocking your area of interest.

  • How do I order a New Tasking?

    1. Browse the map or search for your area of interest.
    2. Use the Area of Interest (AOI) tool to define the specific region you want to capture
    3. After selecting your desired settings, add the order to your cart and proceed with payment.

  • How will clouds affect my image?

    - For New Tasking orders, users can specify acceptable cloud coverage levels. If an image exceeds the specified cloud coverage, a refund or reorder is offered.

    - Archived images display a preview for cloud coverage assessment before purchase.

  • How do I draw a custom shape AOI (Area of Interest)?

On the SpaceEye platform, you can create your own custom AOI by drawing directly on the map.

    1. Choose the AOI draw type first.

    2. Click point by point to create your desired shape.

    3. Close the shape by clicking back on the starting point.

    - Maximum AOI size: 2,000km × 2,000km

    - Recommended number of vertex < 100

    - Maximum number of vertex < 300

Save your AOI to use it for image search or new tasking orders. You can also upload a shapefile (SHP), KML, or KMZ if you already have one.

    ※ For shape file (zip):

    - Include at least 2 files: shape (.shp), shape projection(.prj)

    - Projection shall be Geographic Lat/Long or WGS84.
